byrd offers e-commerce businesses access to a virtual warehouse that connects their online shop seamlessly with multiple warehouses across borders. The fully integrated web application enables merchants to outsource their whole logistics - from storage to shipping - with only a few clicks. Moreover, they can manage and track their orders - regardless of the number of warehouses they ship from - in one single tool and access reports to optimize their logistics. At byrd, technology meets the logistics expertise of dozens of logistics providers on a global scale. As a consequence, retailers can offer shipping that meets and exceeds their customers’ expectations.


byrd was founded in 2016, is a successful venture with real customers, and we’re looking for a Head of Finance to support us in growing further!

 


As a Head of Finance you will


  • be the first point of reference for all financial topics at byrd
  • build financial transparency and predictability within byrd
  • turn byrd’s financials into an asset which can be employed by the leadership team
  • ensure that budget deviations are at a minimum
  • improve the credit/debit ratio


Furthermore you will


  • monitor and optimise the cost base
  • predict, handle and optimise our cash flow
  • take action so that the charging of partners and customers is accurate and happens on time
  • ensure that our financial plan, budget and critical metrics are always accurate and up-to-date
  • inform leadership of any significant deviations from the budget
  • communicate with byrd’s accountants in a smooth and effective manner
  • prepare the monthly investor reporting
  • make sure that the grant reportings to public authorities are accurate


We require


  • advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field;
  • 4+ years of experience in a Finance or Controlling role;
  • excellent analytical skills and sound knowledge in Excel
  • leadership skills and experience in employee management;
  • solid communication skills, both written and verbal in English and German (minimum C2 level)
  • deep understanding of business principles and practices;
  • great attention to detail and organized working style
  • humility, integrity, honesty.
  • experience in working in a start-up an asset
